Leadwood Politicians Sworn in By County Clerk

(Leadwood, MO) The newly elected Mayor of Leadwood, Robert Crump, and Ward I Alderwoman, Anna Woods, are now officially sworn into their elected positions following the certification of the election and their being sworn into office by St. Francois County Clerk, Kevin Engler, rather than the city clerk of Leadwood. Crump tells KFMO B104 News he's not sure exactly why the Leadwood City officials would not give Crump or Woods the oath of office.

St. Francois County Clerk, Kevin Engler, says he spoke with Leadwood officials and was told the city attorney recommended a background check before swearing Crump in yet, according to Engler, he's still unsure why Woods was refused the oath by Leadwood officials.
