Man Dies after Being Hit By SUV

(St. Francois County, MO) A man from Leadwood, 40 year old Michael J. Stevens, is dead after being struck by an SUV Friday night in St. Francois County. State Highway Patrol Reports show the SUV was being driven east on Highway 8 at 9:05, west of Hulsey Road, when it struck Stevens who was standing in the eastbound lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV, 36 year old DeEtta S. Pierce, of Springfield, MO, was not injured.
