Off Duty Firefighter Killed

(Crawford County, MO) An off duty part time firefighter with the DeSoto Rural Fire Protection District, 48 year old Tommy Seegers of Imperial, is dead after a highway crash Friday afternoon. Highway Patrol reports show the wreck took place at about 5:40 as Seegers was headed west on Interstate 44 in Crawford County, when his car ran off the right side of the highway, came back onto the road, struck a pick up also driven west by 66 year old Tommy L. Green of Cuba. Seegers car rolled over and burst into flames. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Green was not injured.
