(St. Francois County, MO) An Ironton man, 71 year old Mark T. Parker, is recovering from moderate injuries after the pick he was driving ran back and forth across Highway 221, west of Henson Road, Friday afternoon just before 12:30 in St. Francois County. Highway Patrolmen say Parker was headed west when he lost control of the truck and it ran off the right side of the highway and crashed into several signs and a mailbox. The truck ran back across the roadway and off the left side of the road. The truck came back onto the road and Parker overcorrected causing the truck to run off the right side of the highway and smash into a tree. Parker, who was wearing his seat belt at the time, was taken to Parkland Health Center South at Farmington. According to Highway Patrol arrest reports Parker was also charged with a felony of driving while intoxicated.
