Senators Making Own Budget

(Jefferson City, MO) After receiving a new state fiscal budget from the Missouri House of Representatives, State Senators are preparing to create their own version of the measure. Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee member, Senator Denny Hoskins of Warrensburg, says he likes the I70 improvement plan that is in the current Senate version of the budget.

The Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee spent last week reviewing the Missouri House of Representatives’ version of the next budget. Senator Tracy McCreery of St. Louis County says crafting the budget is the Legislature’s only constitutional requirement.

The budget must be on the Governor's desk no later than May 5th.
