State Treasurer Runs for Election

(Jefferson City, MO) Missouri State Treasurer, Vivek Maleck, is running for the seat again in next year's elections. Maleck, who visited the studios of KFMO B104 Monday, says he governs the Treasurer's office by using what he calls the three P's,..Protecting tax payer dollars, providing opportunities through the office, and the Promise of America.

Maleck, who is filling out the unexpired term of former Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick, was born and raised in India. He came to the United States as an international foreign student in 2001 to attend Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau for a business administration degree. He then attended law school and wound up practicing in St. Louis. He was appointed to the Southeast Missouri Board of Governors and was then appointed State Treasurer by Governor Mike Parson when Fitzpatrick left the position to become State Auditor.
