Ste. Genevieve Police Officers Attacked

(Ste. Genevieve, MO) A Ste. Genevieve Police Officer is suffering serious injuries after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at officers who were responding to a peace disturbance call. Reports indicate as an officer was approaching the residence the male suspect confronted officers and threw an ignited Molotov cocktail at them. The weapon burst and exploded on the officer, causing significant burns. The officer was flown to a St. Louis hospital. He was reported to have been conscious and alert and is expected to recover. The suspect was taken into custody and is being held at the Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Office awaiting charges. KFMO B104 News has been in contact with Ste.
