Traffic Fatality in Washington County

(Washington County, MO) A woman from Potosi, 36 year old Ashley S. Emily, is dead after an accident involving two SUV's in Washington County Wednesday morning. State Highway Patrolmen say the accident took place at 7:25 on Highway 8, west of Edgehill Road. Reports indicate the vehicle Emily was riding in was being driven west by 40 year old Juston A. Gray, of Potosi. The other SUV was headed east and was driven by Bradley R. Brooks, of Steelville. Gray's SUV failed to negotiate a curve and crossed over the centerline into the path of Brooks vehicle. The two SUV's smashed into each other and then ran off the highway. Emily was pronounced dead at the scene. A 15 year old male juvenile, who was riding in Gray's vehicle was moderately injured and was taken to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis. None of those involved were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
