(Bonne Terre, MO) A Bonne Terre woman is suffering from smoke inhalation and a two family home is extensively damaged after a fire at the corner of D and Long streets in Bonne Terre early Tuesday morning. Big River Bonne Terre Fire Chief, Dave Pratte, says the home was involved with a working fire when he arrived.
According to Pratte the woman who was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation had went back into the home to try and save two pet cats. Firefighters removed her from the house and were able to save the animals. No other injuries are being reported. Pratte says the believe the fire was accidental. Fire Departments from Leadington, Farmington, rural Desoto, and Terre Du Lac were on scene with their trucks while the Jefferson R7 Fire Department provided additional assistance at the Big River Bonne Terre firehouse.
