West County Schools Respond to Fictitious Social Media Posts

Frankclay, Mo. (KFMO) - West County R-IV School District Superintendent Levi Rawson has addressed concerns over false and misleading social media posts circulating in the community. In a letter sent to parents and guardians, Rawson stated that some of the fabricated posts falsely claim to represent statements from his office or the district.

"Recently, the West County R-IV School District has become aware of multiple fictitious comments being shared on social media and within our community about a student matter," Rawson wrote. "Some of these outlandish and fake posts have been fabricated to appear as if they have come from myself or my office on behalf of the District."

While the district is unable to share details about the issue due to privacy considerations, Rawson assured families that the administrative team is actively working to address the spread of false information.

Rawson emphasized his commitment to resolving concerns directly and collaboratively, stating, "I strongly believe that issues are best resolved through direct, one-to-one conversation."

The superintendent also noted that the district's focus remains on maintaining a supportive learning environment for students, adding that the administrative team is working diligently to minimize disruptions for the school community.
