New St. Joe ORV Entrance Opens

(Park HIlls, MO) The new entrance off Highway 67 into St. Joe State Park is now open. The Donnely LaMear Off Road Vehicle Trailhead, located off the St. Francois County Fair exit, opened Thursday morning at Park Hills after years of work and behind the scenes negotiations with the state. The City Administrator of Park Hills, Mark McFarland, says there will be a grand opening for the trail head a few months from now.

McFarland explains the new entrance will be open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7 to 5. To enter the park from the new site you would need to pay a fee online and show proof of payment at the guard booth. Park HIlls City officials are hoping the new ORV entrance will attract more business like a convenience store and motel.
