(St. Louis, MO) Meteorologists with the National Weather Service say a mix of accumulating snow, freezing rain, and sleet is expected tonight across portions of northeastern Missouri and west central Illinois with winter weather advisories posted for many of those areas. There is a 100% chance of rain for the Parkland tonight with possibly a thunderstorm. Accumulating snow is expected Friday into Friday night across the region with the highest amounts along and north of Interstate 44 in Missouri and Interstate 70 in Illinois, particularly in any Winter Weather Advisory areas north of the Parkland. In St. Francois, and surrounding counties. Friday's prediction is for a mixture of rain and snow with new snow accumulations of less than half an inch possible. Saturday's weather locally shows mostly sunny skies ahead with temperatures around 30 degrees. Dangerously cold wind chills are expected Saturday night through Tuesday morning, mainly in parts of northeast Missouri and west central Illinois. In the Parkland there is a slight chance of snow Sunday, a 40% chance of snow Sunday night and then a slight chance of snow Martin Luther King day, Monday.
