Parson Recognizes Mineral Area College

(Jefferson City, MO) Missouri lawmakers are looking ahead to the state's future with infrastructure, government reform, and other legislative priorities following Governor Mike Parson's sixth, and final, State of the State Address given yesterday in Jefferson City. Governor Parson announced proposals to expand early learning prekindergarten programs while pointing out the success of the early learning program at Mineral Area College as he recognized MAC Nursing student Katherine Godier, and her son Theo, who utilize the program, as well as it's Director Jennifer Sikes.

Parson's new budget includes a core increase of three percent for public four year institutions, and community colleges, and $54 million to support MoExcels workforce training programs on college campuses. Youth Apprenticeships are seeing $3 million and JAG-Missouri is set for a $3.8 million investment. Building on Missouri's status as a top manufacturing state, Parson included $10 million for advanced semiconductor research, development, and skills training. Nearly $7 million in the new budget would help with critical mineral development.
