Wright Pushes More Community College Funding

(St. Francois County, MO) With the budget cuts coming next year to Mineral Area College there is a renewed call to increase state funding for community colleges. Missouri State Representative of the 116th District, Dale Wright, says about 40% of all higher education students go to community colleges. Wright adds the inequity is that community colleges only get 15 to 17% of the state's funds for colleges.

Wright explains the coronavirus statewide budget cutbacks made the situation even worse making immediate funding equity relief more important now than ever before.
